Restaurant Software-as-a-Service Platform UrbanPiper Acquires Ordermark's US Operation
Bengaluru-based UrbanPiper, a restaurant software-as-a-service platform, has acquired the US operations of meal delivery aggregator Ordermark for an undisclosed amount in order to expand its global footprint. The transaction would allow UrbanPiper, which is backed by Peak XV Partners and Tiger Global, to strengthen its footprint in the United States and Canada by leveraging Ordermark's vast consumer base, the company said in a statement.
It will also provide broad point of sale (POS) integrations to UrbanPiper customers. According to the company, UrbanPiper serves over 35,000 restaurant locations worldwide and processes over 300 million orders every year.
Workflow automation, seamless interaction with numerous online delivery systems, analytics and dashboards, and marketing automation capabilities are among its services. Its offices are located in Bengaluru, Dubai, Riyadh, and London. In January 2021, the startup expanded its operations to the UAE.
Ordermark, which was founded in 2017 in California, provides order management services for restaurants and food enterprises, including POS systems, kitchen display systems, and accounting tools.
So far, Peak XV Partners, Tiger Global Management, and Axilor Ventures have contributed USD 32 million to UrbanPiper. Food delivery companies Zomato and Swiggy invested unknown sums in UrbanPiper last year.
